Mix It Up!

As most of you already know, I moved to the center of Antwerp a few months ago. We bought a lot of stuff already, however, a few pieces in the kitchen were still missing. One of those important elements, was a blender. As I’m a large fan of smoothies & shakes, I got myself one of the bests on the market: the Byzoo Vacuümblender Giraffe. The what? Yes a vacuum one! In this way, your smoothie won’t lose as much of its vitamins compared to normal ones. In this post, I’ll give you some ideas of healthy smoothies and bowls I like making- or should I say ‘mixing’?

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Looking for something to boost your morning? Make an acai bowl. It doesn’t take that much time as it looks like. Blend together 200 grams of strawberries, 90 grams of blueberries, 90 grams of raspberries, 5 teaspoons acai powder, 3 frozen bananas and 4 dates! To make clear: Yes, this is for 4 persons.  You can top it off with everything you want. Personally, I prefer granola, goji berries and rasped coconut.

Lots of guys have the problem to gain weight (in muscles). I have the same trouble, so I decided to search for a right nutritional help-tool, like a good post-workout shake. Do you have the same struggle? This is what you need:

1 banana, half of an advocate, a hand full of frozen berries, 25 grams of spinach, 1 spoon of vanilla whey powder, a spoon of peanut butter (unsweetened) and 30 grams of oatmeal. It looks really much, but it’s only for 1 person. 😉 This will boost your metabolism and feed your muscles.

Just looking for a healthy smoothie to drink during the day? Here you have it: a ‘Kefir & Spinach Smoothie’. What you need is 120 ml of kefir, 1 frozen banana, 1 hand of spinach, 1 lime (squeezed), 2 teaspoons of honey and 120 ml of water. If you’re not able to find kefir in your local supermarket, take fat-free yogurt or drinking yogurt. This recipe is for 1 person.
