Valletta is the capital of Malta. Besides that, it’s alsor this year’s European Capital of Culture. There are several places to stay when visiting this beautiful European Island. We searched for some cosy boutique hotels in the historical centre, and ended up in Ursulino Valletta.
Ursulino Valletta is situated in one of the beautiful, typical Maltese houses. The staff was very polite. And just a little shout out to the receptionist: she informed us about the transportation possibilities, attractions we should visit and where to go to have a drink at night. And We didn’t even need to ask, a small tour of the hotel was immediately given!
Since the hallway was kinda small, we didn’t expect the rooms to be this large. Well, we were wrong. Next to some normal rooms, Ursulino has some Duplex Rooms – and they’re huge. This large rooms include a ‘picture-perfect’ view over the quite St. Ursula Street.
Breakfast is served everyday at the fourth floor. You can eat inside or on the rooftop terrace. We had a lot of wind the first days, but the third day was perfect. A bright sun and no wind: the perfect combination for a breakfast with a view over Valletta. By the way, the breakfast is great. During high-season (Spring-Summer), Ursulino serves a complimentary ‘aperitivo‘ with prosecco on the terrace, which gives us a reason to go back in Summer!
